I spent the second half of last year editing, updating and expanding my first book, and I just published it at the beginning of February, 2012. I spent the second half of last year editing, updating and expanding my first book, and I just published it at the beginning of February, 2012. Every chapter of the book was updated and improved, but those receiving particular attention were College Entrance Exams (new score information and the latest prep resources), The Application Process (now reflecting the electronic and social media world students live in), College and Money (additional explanation of types of aid and expanded discussion of student spending during college), and Thoughts for Parents (additional suggestions for parents as to how to help their student - plus more suggestions throughout the book). Like the original (originally published in 2007), the new edition includes college planning checklists for each year of high school, plus one for parents, a list of items to bring to college, and time management and study skills strategies that give the student a head start on succeeding in that first semester of college. The book is written alternately to students and parents, directing them to action whenever appropriate. And I wrote it in a way that is easy to understand and gets right to the point. Students, parents, and professionals alike will like its ease of use and immediately applicable suggestions.
