Stressed Out and Needing Help...
Hello , I'm Stacey and I live in Texas, and planning to attend college in Daytona Florida at Wymo tech . As crazy as this may sound , but I am clueless where to start . I have already got in contact with the school , and I have met with a guy that is helping me with my application to the school , but I don't have all the money for it . He provided me a list of scholarship, but I was needing a little help to direct me in the right direction!!! Please ! Im stresssseeeddd out !!! Thank you (: Stacey, First of all, don't stress out! You have some work to do, but you have time, and you can do it. If I understand you correctly, you are saying you don't have enough money to pay for college? Is that correct? Or do you mean you don't have the money for the application? Either way, there are some things you can do, but I just need clarification. Also, did I understand you have someone helping you with the application? Is this someone you are paying? If so, what services are they providing you? Either way, if you are short of money, I'd be very cautious where you spend any money. There are plenty of reputable college counselors out there, I just want to make sure you have one of them helping you - or at least that you aren't having to pay for something you can do yourself. If you'll let me know what you mean about the money thing, as well as whether or not you are paying the person helping you and what they are helping you with, I'll be happy to answer whatever questions you have. I would, however, like you to be more specific as to what your questions are, or at least what your questions are about. There's no use me answering questions you already have answers to or not answering questions you do have. Regardless, I can suggest these three things: 1. Contact your school (Wymo tech) and ask to talk to someone in Admissions. Tell them you want/plan to attend their school and you just want help with the application process. Get their name and contact information, tell them what you've done and ask what to do next. Do it and contact them again with the same question again. 2. plan to complete the FAFSA ASAP - go to fafsa.ed.gov. You and/or your parents need to start gathering income/asset/tax information, and you need to plan to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible - really! Also, your school (Wymo tech) should have people in their financial aid office who will help you. 3. If you are in high school, contact your high school counselor and ask for help. If you're not in high school, consider calling the counselor where you DID go to school, OR the local high school counselor. Remember, they have plenty of other students in need of their help, but if you're lucky they'll find some time for you. Write me back and let's see what we need to do next.
